Most will agree that parenthood, and motherhood in particular, is not easy. Apart from the tremendous responsibilities that it brings about it also takes it toll on a more personal level from both father and mother – parenthood is truly a life-changing event. This is often quite evident by observing the parents, the tired and run-down look on their faces is often a dead give-away that they are proud parents to one or more life-sapping brat 🙂 Don’t get me wrong, parenthood is a most rewarding and full-filling endeavour, but it is certainly a long way removed from the impressions given by popular media such a motherhood magazines. Browsing through such magazines it is easy to be misled into believing that bearing children and motherhood is a walk in the park. The angelic smiles and blissful demeanour of the “mothers” on the glossy pages of these magazines tell a story of all pure peace, bliss, and eternal happiness – often a far cry from stark reality.
However once in a while one comes across a mother or mother-to-be that looks like she jumped straight from the cover of these motherhood magazines, showing no signs of the stress, discomfort, aches, and pains that usually accompanies motherhood and pregnancy. Make no mistake, she probably experiences all these symptoms, but somehow it doesn’t show. One such mother is a good friend of ours – Anesia. Already mother of an active and lively two-year old girl, she is now also in the final stages of another pregnancy.
We had the privilege of shooting some photographs of her recently. Here is one woman that positively “glows” with pregnancy, it really brings out her natural beauty and motherly demeanour – for all to see.
I am sure that after looking at some the images we shot of her below you will agree that she would do the glossy pages of a motherhood magazine proud!
Doesn’t she just look stress-free and glowing?
I told you so!
