The boy in a suitcase

_DSC5695Most have heard the expression “If I could fit you in my suitcase I would take you along”, which is often expressed by someone going away and leaving a loved one behind.

I was reminded of this very recently when we did a baby-shoot of little Eben, who arrived not very long after we did a pregnancy shoot with his mom, which I blogged about here: Motherhood and Pregnancy. For the baby shoot we decided to include some simple props of which an old suitcase was one, and it was while looking at some of the shots we got that I got reminded of this old saying.

I am sure Eben’s daddy would just love to take his loved one’s along with him when travelling, regardless of him then needing several suitcases!  Sadly though, this is not really a viable option. Fortunately modern technology makes it easy to stay in regular contact with each other, and there’s of course also photographs that might help.

So Stephan, this one is for you !
